The chamber music festival « Concerts aux Îles du Bic », celebrates its Seventh Season this summer from August 1 to 10th, 2008 in the lower Saint-Lawrence communities of Bic and St.Fabien and is pleased to announce the third edition of the Young Quartet in Residence programme.

In the spectacular natural surroundings of the Parc National du Bic, the resident quartet enjoys interaction and daily coachings with the invited artists, a rehearsal space, and performance opportunities within the festival.

Admission requirements:
- All members between 16 and 25 years old
- Presently enrolled in either a Conservatory of music or University in Québec, Ontario, Nova Scotia or New Brunswick.

Residency details:
Each participant of the selected quartet will receive a stipend of 450$. In addition, the festival will look after accomodations and pay for return transportation.

The selected quartet is expected to be present for the entire duration of the residency, and candidates should prepare to work on and present in concert repertoire of their choosing, selected from a variety of periods.

Application:
Candidates must send the following, postdated on or before June 15, 2008: CV's and a good quality recording of between 15 and 20 minutes composed of two contrasting works.
