History

In 2002, violinist Élise Lavoie and cellist James Darling decided to combine their love for the beautiful landscape in the Bic and Saint-Fabien regions and their shared passion, chamber music, by creating the Festival Concerts aux Îles du Bic.

The festival is known for its balance between boldness and tradition and its repertoire of chamber music performed with freshness and authenticity. Each concert is an original, as internationally known artists come together to form temporary ensembles. From Yannick Nézet-Séguin to Daniel Taylor and Alain Lefèvre, the festival’s stages have hosted superb musicians and singers. This encounter of talented performers, combined with the beauty of the concert venues and the proximity of nature, has become the trademark of Les Concerts aux Îles du Bic, making it unique among Quebec chamber music festivals.
